ABC7 to replace Oprah with a 4 p.m newscast

Media blogger Rich Lieberman reports that KGO ABC7 is planning to launch an hour-long newscast at 4 p.m. to replace Oprah when she ends her syndicated show on Sept. 9, 2011. Word is that sportscaster Larry Beil will switch to news and anchor the program. Lieberman also reports that ABC7 is working on a new program to replace "View from the Bay" at 3 p.m. Apparently it won't be a news show, but will have a Bay Area theme.

Without Oprah, watch Channel 7's early news lead float away.

considering this is happening more than a year from now, it's awfully early to announce an anchor line up ... are you sure about this?

The Lieberman link goes to his blog, but there is no mention of the KGO item. Did he pull it?

FYI... ignore post about link not working and no need to publish this. I found the item. It was from July 2, so back a couple of pages on his blog.

Oprah retired from this show years ago. The whole thing is a fraud and has ripped viewers off for years.
